This post is the last post of this blog, and also in a different way, the first post. It is meant to explain to the few who wander their way here the purpose of the Amethyst Archives.So I used to have a blog back when I was 17-18, or rather, a failed attempt at one. It was called 'Frozen Butterfly...' and it had a grand total of 8 posts.
Along with Frozen Butterfly, I had another one on Windows Live Space (while it still existed) called 'The Eye of the Storm'. I'm revamping and restarting Frozen Butterfly as the Amethyst Storm (theamethyststorm.blogspot.com), so this place shall serve as a small library, preserving a sliver of my past.
One of the timestamps has a problem, which means all of them might have problems. But they should all be fairly close to the original posting time.
If you're going to be perusing the selection here, then have fun. I'll leave you to it.

Alright, I went to Jon's house on Thursday, never gone over in a long time. Played Street Fighter IV and Fifa 09 there. Jon invited quite a few of the other guys over as well. Had a blast. Jon and I teamed up for Fifa 09, played against Zuhairi and Louis. We were Liverpool, of course, they were Manchester United and we kicked their asses. Played three matches, we won the first, they won the second, we drew for the last one, went to penalties...and let's just say that they suck at penalties. Thrashed them there. We also had a Street Fighter IV tournament, among the six of us. Louis beat Jon for first place, and I clinched third after beating Zuhairi. We also learnt how to play poker. And we bet with sweets. Candy. Which Jon kindly provided as he had a lot and no one was eating them. xD I also borrowed Jon's Tales of Vesperia when I left. Been playing it the past couple of days.
On Friday, I went out in the evening to watch a movie at the Cathay Cineleisure with Darryl and Jon. We watched Role Models. DAMN FUNNY! xD Good movie. ^_^ After the movie, we bought drinks from the 7-11 or Cheers at Orchard Cineleisure, then we walked around Orchard for a bit as we drank and chatted. Yep, my first alcoholic drink in my entire life! xD Went to Centrepoint for a short while, so that Darryl could buy some stuff from Guardian and also desposit some money. Then we went home by MRT. Jon took a picture of our mostly empty bottles in Guardian. xD From left: my Hooch Blackcurrant drink, Jon's Bacardi Lime, and Darryl's Q Raspberry Vodka. (Which tastes like cough medicine. Word of warning: Don't waste your money on it unless you like the taste of cough medicine.) And below is another picture I took at home, after the bottle was cleaned. Jon seemed to have gotten drunk, but he did help Darryl finish his vodka, since Darryl wasn't a fan of cough medicine, so that might explain it. He kept insisting that he was merely high, but was also very sleepy. I still think you were drunk, Jon. xD

Right...let's see...yesterday was my birthday! And today's Sheila's birthday! So happy birthday to her! And 4 days ago, it was Angeline's birthday, so she's 18 just like me too! Hooray for Pisces! xD
By the time we got out, we walked over to Marina Square to watch a movie, 'The Pink Panther 2'. It was pretty good. ^_^ Quite funny. It was at 6:45. While waiting for the movie to start, we went to the arcade next door for a short while, and everyone played something except for me. xD I just watched, and kept track of the time. After the movie, we went to McDonald's for dinner. The other three ate, I didn't, since I was broke by then, especially after lunch and paying for the KTV and movie. I had 35 cents in my wallet. xD
One final thing, my new song on my blog is 期待爱 by JJ 林俊杰, very nice song. Won't provide you with the lyrics right now, will add them later. xD

In other news, I got into the Academic Roll of Honour for the second time in a row. I don't feel anything though. Odd. A little happy, I suppose. No more than that though.
Well, let's see...for the rest of February since my last post, I went to Angeline's poolside birthday barbeque at Emerald Park, a condo estate. Had a great time there. We actually didn't eat that much. We were playing games most of the time. And Angeline kept telling us to eat more. xD Above is a picture of Angeline's birthday cake. It's a Monopoly board! Complete with Chance and Community Chest and playing pieces! xD And below is one of our group pictures at the BBQ. I just can't get why Marcus won't smile. In fact, none of the other guys are smiling, save Shaun and I. All of the girls are smiling though.
Then on the 25th, I got my hair cut at Jean Yip at Tampines Mall, so I look different from the picture above now. My hair's much shorter right now.
The next day, on the 26th, I went out with Sheila, Hakim and Marcus. We met at Clarke Quay MRT, and for once, I was the latest to arrive. -.-" Anyway, after we met up, we walked over to the Coffee Club at Clarke Quay for lunch, I ordered the PiriPiri Chicken, and I wanted to take a picture of it, but then forgot. By the time I remembered...I was halfway though the dish. Oh well. It was expensive. More expensive than I had anticipated. Oh well. Never mind. At least the food was good. I ordered a Vanilla Ice Mocha to go with it. Not bad. Just...expensive. -.-" Won't be eating there for quite some time. xD
After lunch, we walked out to see that it was raining, lol. We went over to Liang Court, just next door, and while Sheila had a small umbrella, Hakim, Marcus and I chose to get wet and ran across to Liang Court. Much faster than taking repeated trips with the umbrella. When the three of us were back under shelter, we decided to dry off in the aircon in Liang Court, forgetting that the aircon, while taking moisture from our bodies and clothing, also made us feel cold. xD Then Sheila felt cold too, because the cold weather coupled with the aircon and the fact that she was wearing shorts, meant her legs were exposed to the cold. So we were all cold, regardless of who got wet. xD Anyway, we sang our lungs out for 4 hours at the Party World KTV at Liang Court. FUN! :D I paid for the entire session by myself, but it was worth it. ^_^

After dinner at the McDonald's at Marina Square, we walked over to the Esplanade Rooftop Garden and chatted there for a while, until we left at about 10:50. Sheila and I also exchanged gifts there, since the outing was in celebration of my birthday, and Sheila's birthday. I gave Hakim and Marcus small gifts too. While Sheila, Marcus and Hakim gave me one combined gift, they didn't get Sheila anything. Nor did we get any cake, but I don't mind. ^_^ All in all, a fun time. And W24M are doing an outing on 3rd March, this Tuesday! ^_^ Looking forward to that. ^_^ Oh, and no pictures of the outing on the 26th, cos Sheila's camera was spoiled, I don't have a camera, Hakim has no camera, and Marcus forgot to bring his. xD

CNY and the past couple of weeks!

Singapore Time
Okay, so this is late. Very late. I’m sowwee. ):
Okay, anyway, more than two weeks’ worth of stuff to write about, but this is gonna be short anyway! xD Because I’m lazy and busy! xD
Okay, so CNY has come and gone. I got money from hongbaos. Won money from gambling. And spent money won from gambling and gotten from hongbaos. On CNY Eve, several relatives came over, we ate a steamboat dinner. Then I tried to stay awake for as long as possible. It’s a Chinese tradition. You don’t sleep or at least, stay awake for as long as possible on CNY Eve, to wish your parents longevity. I lasted until about 5:30am, and then fell asleep. On the sofa. Was watching TV to keep myself awake. It was mostly boring stuff. I woke up a couple of hours later, because my parents told me to sleep in my room, on my bed, and not on the sofa. So I went in, fell upon the bed, and went back to Sleepyland. xD
So next day, almost all of my relatives came over to my place, because my house is where the family gathers, since my grandma lives with me. This is when I start collecting my red packets and start gambling. Of course, on the first day of CNY, we eat vegetarian. On the second day, ate steamboat, again. For lunch, this time. Dinner was at a Chinese cuisine restaurant. The food was quite good. ^_^ And of course, throughout the course of CNY, I ate yusheng a lot.
On the third day of CNY, I went shopping with all the cash fattening my wallet! xD Got some new clothes. ^_^
On the fourth day, Sheila, Hakim and Marcus came all the way from the west to visit my house in Tampines! For once, they did the travelling. xD I met them at Tampines Mall/Tampines MRT station, then we ate lunch at KFC. I did a quick bit of shopping, and then we went to my place via bus service 81. We had to run to get to the bus, lol. Over at my place, we hung out for a while, played a little on my Xbox 360, then they left. Ate dinner with Hakim and Marcus at McDonald’s, since Sheila had to go off first.
On the fifth day, it was my turn to do the travelling; because I was gonna visit Sheila and Marcus. Went by MRT all the way to Bukit Batok, where Marcus lives. We ate lunch at Pastamania. Then we walked to Marcus’ place. We played Bingo (which Sheila won) and Blackjack (which I won the most) and ‘All In’(we didn’t play money for this). Sheila ended up winning the most, and I think I won a bit. And Marcus lost money. Hakim couldn’t gamble. xD
After some time, we left to go to Sheila’s house, in Boon Lay. Took a bus there. Once we reached there, we played bridge, watched Mythbusters. And saw the purplest room I have ever seen in my life. xD We took a few pictures at her place, but forgot to take at my place and Marcus' place. Ate dinner at Jurong Point’s KFC with Marcus and Hakim, as Sheila went to a steamboat dinner at her friend’s place.
Over the rest of the weeks, I went on many shopping trips, gone to RP twice to hang out with Hakim and Marcus. And just yesterday, went out with some of E36K. Waited an hour at City Hall MRT for everyone, then we went to Marina Square to play bowling. I love bowling. ^_^ We played two games. Sykes won the first game; I scored the highest for the second game. ^_^
Then we went to Suntec to hang for a while, since we were waiting for more members of the class to join us for dinner. This was at Suntec City’s Pastamania. Once dinner was done, we walked over to Millenia Walk for a short while, then we went to the Esplanade and went to the Rooftop Terrace and hung out for a while there, and finally we went home by MRT at about 9:30. No pictures of us together, while we took some, I haven’t gotten them yet. I do have some pictures of the curious architecture of Millenia Walk though.
Yesterday was Jon’s birthday, and though I’ve already wished him happy birthday multiple times, I’m gonna wish him happy birthday again! xD

This is when I start collecting my red packets and start gambling. Of course, on the first day of CNY, we eat vegetarian. On the second day, ate steamboat, again. For lunch, this time. Dinner was at a Chinese cuisine restaurant. The food was quite good. ^_^ And of course, throughout the course of CNY, I ate yusheng a lot.
On the third day of CNY, I went shopping with all the cash fattening my wallet! xD Got some new clothes. ^_^
On the fourth day, Sheila, Hakim and Marcus came all the way from the west to visit my house in Tampines! For once, they did the travelling. xD I met them at Tampines Mall/Tampines MRT station, then we ate lunch at KFC. I did a quick bit of shopping, and then we went to my place via bus service 81. We had to run to get to the bus, lol. Over at my place, we hung out for a while, played a little on my Xbox 360, then they left. Ate dinner with Hakim and Marcus at McDonald’s, since Sheila had to go off first.
On the fifth day, it was my turn to do the travelling; because I was gonna visit Sheila and Marcus. Went by MRT all the way to Bukit Batok, where Marcus lives. We ate lunch at Pastamania. Then we walked to Marcus’ place. We played Bingo (which Sheila won) and Blackjack (which I won the most) and ‘All In’(we didn’t play money for this). Sheila ended up winning the most, and I think I won a bit. And Marcus lost money. Hakim couldn’t gamble. xD
After some time, we left to go to Sheila’s house, in Boon Lay. Took a bus there. Once we reached there, we played bridge, watched Mythbusters. And saw the purplest room I have ever seen in my life. xD We took a few pictures at her place, but forgot to take at my place and Marcus' place. Ate dinner at Jurong Point’s KFC with Marcus and Hakim, as Sheila went to a steamboat dinner at her friend’s place.
Over the rest of the weeks, I went on many shopping trips, gone to RP twice to hang out with Hakim and Marcus. And just yesterday, went out with some of E36K. Waited an hour at City Hall MRT for everyone, then we went to Marina Square to play bowling. I love bowling. ^_^ We played two games. Sykes won the first game; I scored the highest for the second game. ^_^
Then we went to Suntec to hang for a while, since we were waiting for more members of the class to join us for dinner. This was at Suntec City’s Pastamania. Once dinner was done, we walked over to Millenia Walk for a short while, then we went to the Esplanade and went to the Rooftop Terrace and hung out for a while there, and finally we went home by MRT at about 9:30. No pictures of us together, while we took some, I haven’t gotten them yet. I do have some pictures of the curious architecture of Millenia Walk though.
Yesterday was Jon’s birthday, and though I’ve already wished him happy birthday multiple times, I’m gonna wish him happy birthday again! xD

I'm starting something I'm calling the Song of the Week! Every Saturday, the song on my blog will change, unless I'm abroad or something, and can't change it. The song could be old, or it could be new, English, Chinese, and occasionally, Japanese, but regardless, it will be a song that I like and would recommend to all readers of my blog. ^_^
So let's start off with my first Song of the Week! Forever! By Chris Brown! It's a totally awesome song, and definately one of my top ten favourite songs ever. It's a very catchy and upbeat electro-dance pop song, but it's also a love song. Chris Brown manages to make this love song very easy to dance to. Hey people! My first post on my new blog here on blogger! ^_^ I might update both this blog and my Windows Live Space one. At the very least though, I'll update this one, since Windows Live Space doesn't seem too popular, oddly enough. This blog will have some new stuff the previous blog didn't have! I'm not gonna spend too much time yakking away here. On to the real content!
Well, to start off this first post, I was helping out with Project R.I.C.E on the 17 and the 18th this month. Represented the RCHN, or Red Cross Humanitarian Network. It was a great success. Our target was 30,000kg of rice. We got 40,750 kg. Awesome.
17th involved collecting rice from households. We went door to door collecting. We got some guys from RI's NCC to help us. Yes, Raffles Institution. They were doing it for CIP, if I'm not mistaken. Exhausting, thank god for their help. We made very good progress, and towards the end, we spent a lot of time playing bridge with the NCC boys from RI. xD Oh yeah, Eetheng and Sheila were there too. We met at Hougang MRT, then walked over to Punggol CC. Angeline was supposed to come, but had to see to something, I'm not sure what, lol. Anyway, she came the next day. The three of us who did come got an event T-shirt, which I am now, quite fond of wearing for some unknown reason. xD
Yeah, Eetheng and Sheila resting, during one of our breaks. Eetheng dozed off. xD They're wearing the event T-shirt. And Sheila was complaining the whole time, because she was wearing another T-shirt under the event T-shirt. XD Oh, and the RI NCC boys called Sheila an old auntie. xD Well, they called all three of us old, but also called Sheila an auntie. xD
On the 18th, Angeline joined us, as we finished packing the rice, then went to distribute it to various households in Hougang. When we were done, we had a lunch break at Hougang Mall's Long John Silver. Then it was back to Punggol CC, where we boarded the pickup truck that brings the volunteers all around. This time, our destination was Tampines! I couldn't stop laughing once I realised how close to my house our distribution area was. Less than 5 minutes walk away.
I took this picture when I was leaving. The others were taking the pickup back to Punggol CC, but since my house was so near, I just walked home. I actually wanted to take a photo with the entire of Division 2, which was basically the team of volunteers I was in. I forgot. -.-" Four of them are in the photo above. (from left, Eetheng, Sheila, Angeline, Lirong (I got her name from Sheila)) I took the photo when they were unprepared, so they weren't looking at the camera. The photo's missing Ruzaini, our Divison's IC. It was really a very fun and meaningful experience, even if it was very tiring. Those two days were exhausting. More pictures can be found on Sheila's blog. None of which include me, because I didn't need to take the lorry ride back to Punggol CC. Bit sad, but no matter.
One thing I noticed though. Not all of the needy beneficaries were 'needy'. One supposedly needy household we delivered rice to, had a plasma tv. -.-" Not their fault though, they didn't sign up. Almost all of the households did not know that they would be receiving rice. And I noticed that quite often, those households which donated the most rice, often seemed like they were the ones who needed the rice instead. We all felt bad collecting the rice sometimes. One household I remember, had a living room completely bare, except for a few blankets in one corner. That household gave quite a bit of rice. It felt like we were taking rice from the poor and giving to the rich sometimes. Of course, that's not to say that the beneficaries did not deserve the rice, many did, there were just some exceptions. Still, very meaningful, I'm glad I joined Project R.I.C.E, and it was time well spent. Being able to help makes me happy. ^_^
